PLASTMO VINYL RAIN GUTTERS
EXPANSION / CONTRACTION
To be assured that expansion/contraction occurs evenly throughout a gutter section to prevent movement in only one direction or "walking" , it is necessary to "fix" the gutter in place at the midpoint in between:
a) Two expansion centre drops
b) One expansion centre drop and one end cap
c) One expansion centre drop and one expansion joint connector
The midpoint becomes fixed meaning that no expansion/contraction can occur across this point.
The midpoint should be fixed by cutting a joint connector to half width and cementing it to the gutter snug against each side of a gutter-bracket.
This will assure that when the gutter contracts after expanding, it will assure that when the gutter contracts after expanding, it will return to its original position.
Note: Do not fix a gutter section that includes a corner piece. (The corner piece is a fixed point by itself).
