Abbreviated Gutter Installation Instructions
Install brackets on 24" (61.5cm) centers for all K-snap and Plastmo half round, use #10 screws. A stretched string will provide referance for mounting.
Keep outward edge of gutter below fall line in snow areas.
Snap gutter into brackets (inward edge under hook first).
If corners are used cement corner to one piece of gutter before snapping gutter in.
If expansion joints are used cement in both inside end caps (allow time to cure) and cement joint to one piece (only one side of this joint is cemented), instructions come with expansion joint. Expansion joints are used on runs over 25 feet where there is no expansion center drop and where the gutter is bound on both ends by corners.
Keep all cemented parts at least 2" from brackets.
Cement only end caps, corners, joints. DO NOT Cement down pipe parts!
Clean areas to be cemented with 80 to 100 grit sandpaper. Remove all dust. Tips and Tools
Apply enough HEAVY BODIED Plastmo PVC cement to cover bonded areas and to fill gaps.
Apply cement inside clean joint connector and snap over butted gutter sections, snap over rear edge first.
Snap on Expansion center drops, make sure gutter extends to temperature mark corresponding to current temperature. With 5" and 6" expansion drops a bracket must be placed at each side of drop. Gutter from each side must terminate in drop box for expansion. To prevent "walking" or movement in one direction you may need a fix point(alternate page). A drip nose may be necessary if water drips from the center drop.
Each vertical down pipe section should have two pipe holders, the top holder is tight, the bottom holder on each section loose. Pipe holders have an asymmetrical base to allow tight or loose grip on the pipe. If two vertical pipe sections are used, join with a pipe joint leaving 1/2" free play between pipes. A short section of pipes is always used between elbows. If no elbows are used a pipe joint is used between center drop and down pipe.
