The downspout diverter/filler has no moving parts. Water will divert to barrel or cistern stand pipe until water reaches the level of the diverter. 10cm. or 4 inches should be cut from an existing downpipe to fit the filler/diverter. The outlet of the diverter should be the same height as the inlet to the barrel or stand pipe. Water will fill to the level of the diverter outlet. A 1 5/8" or 42mm. Hole in the barrel wil fit a 1.25" pipe adaptor. As pictured the diverter is attached to the barrel wall with Plastmo supplied parts. The 1.25" adaptor may also be attached to a 1.25" female bulkhead fitting. It may be necessary to heat the suction hose end in hot water to slip it on the 1.25" adaptor. www.plastmo.com
